Playboy reduce circulation because of the crisis.

Playboy magazine will reduce circulation and will leave less to cope with the crisis, which led to a sharp drop in sales, reports The Chicago Tribune, referring to the statement of the interim executive director of core Jerome (Jerome Kern).

Proposed to combine the July and August numbers, as well as lower prices for advertising. In addition, in the June issue will be tested the new design, which, according to the core, should give the publication a more youthful and fresh appearance.

As noted by The Chicago Tribune, a paper Playboy is growing competition from electronic media and free erotica on the Internet. From 2002 to 2008, his audience has declined by 600 thousand readers.

Total circulation for the last six months of 2008 amounted to around 2.5 million copies. Revenues from sales in the first quarter of 2009 fell by 16 percent and amounted to 13.5 million. Losses in the first quarter amounted to 13.7 million. In March, the magazine was forced to close its New York edition.
