The court sentenced the DPRK American journalist to 12 years in labor camps.

The court sentenced the North Korean American journalist Laura Ling and Li UNU to 12 years imprisonment with a term of service in labor camps, said June 8, Agence France-Presse, referring to the state информагентство DPRK.
Following trial, which lasted five days, the journalist had been found guilty of "grave crime against the state and the DPRK illegal border crossing." What is a crime committed journalist, the North Korean authorities did not specify.

According to the AFP, the exact circumstances of detention of journalists are unknown, as well as unclear and the charges brought against them. Yesterday U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton called for the release of journalists from detention and stated that the charges against them without foundation.
