Azerbaijan will open the channel for foreigners.

Azerbaijan has started preparations for the launch of broadcast television, which will be broadcast in Russian, Armenian, English, Turkish and Farsi, the agency APA reported citing a statement from the chairman of the National Council on Television and Radio (NSTR) Nushirevana Magerramli.
According to him, the new channel will be non-state, with NSTR already considering a number of applications of interested private companies.
What will be the profile of international television channels and at what frequencies it will be broadcast, have not yet been determined. Magerramli only noted that NSTR has a back-up frequency, and therefore will not be problems. "
NSTR Leader explained that the decision to open a channel that broadcast in different languages, were taken after in Azerbaijan have been discontinued broadcasts of foreign radio stations.
He also noted that the proportion of each of the languages in the broadcasting schedule is not yet defined.
Contest for open channel could be announced as early as March.
